Dr. Behzad Kalaghchi is a gastroenterologist specializing in advanced endoscopic procedures. His areas of interest include diagnostic and interventional applications of Endosonography; endoscopic therapy of Barrett's Esophagus; and therapy of Pancreato-biliary conditions. He earned his medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, completing a seven-year program. He did his internship and residency in internal medicine at the DC General Hospital-Georgetown service, and served one year as chief resident. Dr. Kalaghchi did gastroenterology fellowship training at Howard University. He has subsequently completed Advance Endoscopy Fellowship at University of Florida-Shands, focusing on therapeutic pancreato-biliary endoscopy and diagnostic and interventional Endoscopic Ultrasonography.
He is board certified in internal medicine and in gastroenterology, is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Kalaghchi has practiced in Northern Virginia since 2005 and has joined GANV in 2007. His hospital affiliations are with INOVA Fairfax and INOVA Fair Oaks hospital.
